Milled out from solid billet T6 Aluminum with the logo unapologetically embossed for recognition. It could have been cast or injection molded plastic and probably would’ve made just as much sense, then realization hits…. the car driven is an AMG after all. Available in Anodized Black.

Further Reading: Measuring Oil Levels

The dipstick length has been optimized and differs from stock. The old variant for the M156, low level is in between the two pieces of aluminum.

Proper readout procedure: With the engine at operating temperature turn off ignition and allow engine to sit for 5 minutes on a level surface.

Remove and clean dipstick just prior to the 5 minute mark and reinsert into the dipstick tube wait for 5 seconds and remove and read measurement.

Do NOT measure past 6 minutes. Oil continues to drain from the highest points of the oil gallery and cylinder head onto the oil pan and the level will read higher than specified.

Do NOT measure when engine is cold as oil has not experienced proper expansion at its specifically formulated operating temperatures. Engine tolerances are not at specifications when engine is cold.

Refer to documented images for proper reading of dipstick. M156 USE ONLY: The midway point between the two aluminum pieces of the dipstick is the minimum readout of oil. Note that bottom end tip DOES NOT indicate minimum oil level required for the M156.
